CLIMBING EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Climbing is an inherently dangerous activity. Climbing is not considered to be a safe activity. Risk management must always be your number one priority at Climb Tulsa. Climbing or bouldering can result in falls, and falls from any height can lead to serious injury or even death. If you have any questions about the risks of climbing in our facility, please do not hesitate to ask us. While Climb Tulsa works to minimize risk as much as possible, all risks cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the activity. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own safety!
Harness Minimum Requirements
Intact label showing certification and production information
EN 12277 Standard or UIAA 105 Standard
Reinforced Belay Loop
Designated tie-in point/points
Within manufacturer lifespan (10 years)
Recreational climbing designation – industrial, tactical, tree work harnesses not acceptable
Good condition with no visible wear or damage to the harness
Carabiner Minimum Requirements
Legible markings showing certification information
EN 12275 Standard or UIAA 121 Standard
All gates and locking mechanisms must be in reliable working condition
Belay carabiners must be locking carabiners (screwgate, twistlock, and triplelock carabiners are acceptable)
Belay Device Minimum Requirements
Legible markings showing certification information
UIAA 129 Standard
Compatible with 9.8-10.2 mm ropes
Good condition with no visible damage
Lead Rope Minimum Requirements
EN 892:2012+A1:2016 Standard or UIAA 101 Standard
Single rated rope (double and twin ropes are not acceptable)
Minimum 40 meters in length
Within manufacturer lifespan (5 years)
Good condition with no significant wear (core shots)
